Garmin for Christmas

I've convinced my parents to get me a Garmin Edge 605 for my Christmas! However, they want me to find it as cheap as possible. So far it's not an easy task.
On my search to find it at a decent price, I've been a bit confused. I seen on Wiggle that there are both road and MTB packages. I take it the only difference between this and this are the maps that come with it. So, the option would either be to buy the road one, or to buy it elsewhere and be all confused about the maps and whatnot.
All I want to find is a cheap (well, reasonably priced) Garmin with some maps that are actually up to date and accurate. Help anybody? I don't really know what I should be looking for - it's all so confusing. :?

forgive the numpty quesiton as it's probably been done to death ( think this topic needs a full index of its own!) but what is the benefit of the dvd over the sd card?0 -
Preloaded SD Card
+ Can be used in multiple GPS
- Do not work on PC, you can not plan trips
- Can not take backup
- If you loose or destroy the card, you are lost.
DVD
+ Can be installed in as many PC you like.
+ You can plan Trips, POI, Tacks +++ in MapSource
+ Backup, no problem.
- Only works on one GPS0 -

thanks for the info, good answer!
best bet then is to get the unit from handtech and put the saving towards the map dvd.
it's much clearer, cheers redddragon.0
