Yeah, I think I need to. Any idea how much it costs?
And yes I got a mech hanger with it
Depends, but I reckon it should be no more than a tenner.0 -
yep, thats about right, just nip down to your local decent bike shop, it only takes a few minutes.- Kona Hot '96 - Marin Rift Zone '09 - Cannondale Synapse Carbon '06 - Kona Caldera '98 - Kona AA '94 - Dawes Kickback II - Cannondale BadBoy '11 - Genesis iOiD SS -0

Wow, that's a lovely frame fo £99.
Looking very good everything. 8)0 -
The weight is 1.9kg0

Xtreem
Thanks

The frame is quite strong,(reinforced around headtube, butted, big welds) it can be usedfor light freeride, hence the wait. But for £99 I think the weight is quite good 8)
 What bike/frame do you have?0 -
Hey, if I'm not wrong you have everything, except a rear mech.
Post pictures of the whole bike soon.0 -
I have everything including rear mech, just haven't poste a pic yet.
I need to get the bottom bracket faced, get the frames IS mount threaded and install the headset then I can finally build it!0 -

It's a rockrider 5xc. It's designed for xc, but i've done lots of trail riding and even light freeride an light downhill - just smallish jumps and drops etc. though. It has quite a bit reinforcement and double butting, and is heat treated T6/T4 6061.
It is no longer made, but i seem to remember it was 1.65 kg. Anyone feel free to correct me if i'm wrong. The whole bike is just under 13kg, but i might be able to get it down to 12.5 with my new tyres, stem and handlebars.0 -
Finished - for £510 it's quite light and looks good aswell

Very nice.
The saddle looks like it's going to try and sodomize you though. :shock:0 -
Where is the front mech!0
-
CWNT Thanks and the saddle needs to be raised and flattened plus the stem lowered.
RickDraper It hasnt been installed yet, I had some problems with it0 -
-
you have the qr on the wrong side
anyway that is very very nice. looking at it actually i think it would be worth more. well done0 -

haaaaahaha thats what I thought0 -
Thanks all - how much do you think would a bike of similar spec cost in a shop?
0 -
Looks very slack angled.0
-
I've never seen you post on a Your Rides thread?!
And that is because it is 17'' frame, riser bars, quite a few spacers low saddle. Unless your judging it by the headtube angle...?0 -
Head and seat angle. Could be an illusion from the photo, but the fame looks tipped back as if was designed for a much shorter fork.0
-
Hmm, designed for a 80-100mm fork. And I think it's just the angle of the picture, also the seat is pointing up. Looks steeper in the flesh0
-
Also, have you seen the new Engage BSO?!0
-
Ha, yes, an abomination!0
-
Turns out the forks were 120mm, so they were sent back and now there are some RS Recon 351's on. Dropped 1.2 pounds in weight, now weighs in at 28 lbs. Not sure how it turned out this light.
Pics soon.0 -
Update: The rear wheels axle snapped, jamming up the wheel. So new wheel is on, DT Swiss 370 hub on Sun SOS rim. Hub costs £150 new, got the whole wheel for £25 8) And some Recon 351 forks are on. Pics later!0
-
-
in a shop, maybe £400-£450. But yours is custom specced so maybe that's worth paying extra for!0

Paul 8v wrote:Snapped the axle? Ouch
Yeah, basically part of the axle cracked and bent, jamming the hub, part of the freewheel fell off, bearings rolled out and cassette was stuck on! Luckily it was only on a cycle path, the day before I was on a proper ride so luckily it didn't happen then :shock:in a shop, maybe £400-£450. But yours is custom specced so maybe that's worth paying extra for!
It's got a new rear wheel and forks on now, did you include them?0 -
