SLX Centre lock disc play

Hi

I seem to have a lot of play on both my front and rear brakes, both are shimano slx centre lock jobs, both are fully tightened.

Is this usual? The front in particular has a fair bit of movement. If i lock the brakes and rock backwards and forwards there's loads of movement, i initially though I had a loose headset but it's definitely the centre lock rotors.

Someone did suggest this might be to cater for heat expansion??!

Cheers

    where is the movement happening?
on the splines. on the rivets. or in the caliper? (pads moving)

    Hi

Thanks for the reply, Play is in the rivets. It's only a tiny amount at the rivets but this translates to a fairly large movement at the bars.

In reality I'm not sure it's a massive problem as it's only when rocking the bike it's noticeable, when riding all of the braking force is in the same direction .

Just checking to see if anyone else has noticed this much play and if it's supposed to be this way? Seems excessive to me!

    Cheers

there is not meant to be any play in the rivets.

But it can be an issue with the design.
