help advice on gear shifters please!!!

hi i have recently bought my girlfriend a felt q200 and i wan to fit my hydraulic brakes on to it but the gear shifters and brakes are built togher in one piece i am looking for a 7 speed rapid fire shifter but cant seem to find any loads of 9 speed will these work can anyone help me please??
