Ooh, just under 3 degrees here in Biggin Hill. Saturday was nearly as cold, it was 3.5 when I left for work at 06.30.0

About 6 degrees in the Midlands at the mo. I suspect it'll still feel colder when I leave the house though...FCN Daily commute = 11

Minus 3 here in Glasgow on the way in today. Cars all frosted up.
Took it nice and easy on the way in, avoided all shiny drain covers that looked all lovely and white. Was a lovely sunrise though, and now enjoying my coffee and toast..... yummy!!"Encyclopaedia is a fetish for very small bicycles"0 -
I don't mind the clear & cold winter days, what I do mind is motorists peering out though periscope-size hole in a completely frosted over car.
I am always extra careful during the first patch of very cold weather, especially when approaching a junction with a car waiting to join the main carriageway. The deadly cues for me are small cracks at the top of the windows as the driver attempts to see out, but also tries to keep the inside of their car as warm as possible. Argh!
Be careful out there!Computer geek, Manchester Wheelers' member since 20060 -
Frost and freezing fog ..... and I still came in with my shorts on, how hard am I 8)
..... and cold.0 -
Decided on longs for the first time. Was really nippy, and knees were cold last week.
Agree with BentMikey, better to cover up, keep comfortable than risk damage."Encyclopaedia is a fetish for very small bicycles"0 -

Bit parky aye, shorts and t-shirt still and back still ended up sweaty. Nice cycle in though - just need to get my long finger gloves back from brother.Le Cannon [98 Cannondale M400] [FCN: 8]

OK, so I can manage in base layer, running top and tights, however two pairs of gloves and my fingertips still froze . Still, I have a half dozen pairs of gloves so I'm sure to find the right combination of two, maybe three pairs for the colder weather
Must remember to dig out the buff to cover my ears.0 -

Wore football socks tucked into my knee warmers (colour coordinated with my jersey of course) with undershorts and baggies, overshoes on the feet. Lower half of the body was comfortably warm. Two long sleeve jerseys up top kept me reasonably warm but thinking I might want to get something with a windstopper fabric sometime.Bianchi Via Nirone Veloce/Centaur 20100

If you could redesign it so there's more red in it, I'll take 2 pairs

Thinking I am going to invest in some better winter gear this year. Last year the cold didn't seem to bother me through most of the winter. This morn was the first real cold we have had and it was not nice. Think the weight I have lost over the summer will be missed in the cold. :shock:0

Something that cheezy should really have a ginger wig attached!
Freezing fog coming over Clapham Common. Thought my fingers were gonna drop off. Now have a 4th pair of gloves to go with the mits, windroof and heavy duty winter ones0 -
Yeah, Kurako, but how many do you wear at once? I'm on two pairs min in the cold. Just need to find the right combination.
Ince, put the weight back on. Trust me, slim/skinny and cold do not go together0 -
pretty foggy round mine
upgraded to nearly full winter gloves but other than that, it was business as usual (long sleeves no base layer and 3/4'sPurveyor of sonic doom

Frost ad cold fog over cannock chase. I was rocking some totes wooly gloves, they were perfect I was amazed. They also collected frost on the parts that were facing the wind, ace
I was in long sleeve base layer, SS jersey, gilet, tights and a wooly hat under my helmet, my legs were a bit cold because my tights are just lycra but ok.Saracen Tenet 3 - 2015 - Dead - Replaced with a Hack Frame

Seriously, just cycle faster...
leggings long, sleeve, gilet with some thinish gloves for grip. Then cycle at 80% of your MHR, you simply wont get cold!0 -

very good, it means you only need to wear longs for 1-2 months of the year, plus you can get some very toasty ones
The length is important though as if you like the tops of your calves covered you might end up with a rappers gusset depending on the fitPurveyor of sonic doom

No frost in Sheffield but lots of cold fog in the Derwent Valley. Chatsworth is beautiful!
Get out and make the most of it.0
