Gear setup problem

firstly the rear mech looks a bit bent i? are they supposed to bee 100% in line with cogs? mine looks a bit off, could it be hanger?

but mainly the chain rubs on the lower part of front mech, but if i lower the front mech any more it will interfere with the crank...just wondering if i should invest in new front and rear mechs and hanger, maybe crank as well?

i mean its not a major problem i stlil have access to say 24 out of the 27 gears without rubbing.

would it cost a lot to be looked at by LBS?

i havent changed anything, when i got the bike it wasnt set up right so i started from scratch but unable to stop the chain from rubbing on the front mech

if i lower the mech enough for chain not to rub it will touch the crank.

also its like the front mech isnt wide enough lol because no matter how much i adjust the low/high limit screws i get chain rub on either the inside or outside edge of front mech.

the best i can get it is so its clear in every cog at the back but 1.

in the middle front cog all gears are fine, obv the chain angle is ok here

What setup?

The gears where it rubs on the bottom of the cage are small chainring - smallish cassette ones, you shouldn't really use these.

Cannot really be fixed other than by using gears correctly.

If you're struggling to index the rear gears then get your lbs to check the hanger, needs a special tool ideally to straighten. Shouldn't cost more than some biscuits.

rear mech has nothing to do with it.

you should not need to move the front mech up or down.

set it to the correct place and adjust the tension so it clears the chain and then set the stop check the others positions for rub.

its normal for some bikes for the chain to sit on the front mech when your on the granny ring. my yeti runs with the chain sitting on the front mech in the granny ring.

yeah i mean the granny ring at the front and last 2 smallest at the back

and yeah i realise this isnt an ideal gear combo to use i just wondered if it was my front mech
