If, When, Where?

Ladies & Gentlemen,
Out of interest, if there were to be another 'Forum Meet' - who would go about organising it?
Now I know FourCrossJohn jumped the gun a bit by suggesting we all go down to the Isle of Sh*te which is pretty much out of a majority of the member's way on this forum.
For the general consensus, where would people like to go, would camping be the only viable solution? Transport links etc?
Perhaps some input from those members who arranged the previous event?
Discuss.
I for one am not going to take charge of the event, as I'll just balls it up anyway.

You will never satisfy everyone so no matter where you choose is going to be a compromise .0

Cannock was a good idea because it's in the middle of the country, shame most people couldn't make it in the end. I would imagine Scotland is just too far for most people.
Personally, I don't have any camping gear, could always go for a B&B though I guess, if it was so far away that I couldn't drive back on the same day.
I don't know who'd organise it, but someone needs to take charge if it's going to happen, but be a bit 'democratic' about things too.0 -
Multiple, smaller forum meets are the way forward. Were never going to get everyone in the same place.
Its all very well saying, 'thats to far away from most most people', but then not all of us live in 'the middle of the country'.Now that we are strong ought to bear the infirmities of the weak and not to please ourselves. ROMANS 15:10 -

Yeah, I kind of agree with that. And I know that not everyone lives in the middle of the country, but for a single meet, it's fairer to have everyone doing no more than 3 hours driving, than to have someone who 10 minutes away from Glentress saying "come here", so he gets to ride there. While 90% of the people who'd consider coming would have an 8 hour drive.0 -
Thats why multiple meets are a good idea.
For example, I know that quite a few of us northeners ride around Rivington, a good place for a meet of about 10 people?
I'm sure local rides are the way forward. I'm not saying there shouldn't be another Cannock ride though, but some 'oop north' too, and some in scotland, the lakes...Now that we are strong ought to bear the infirmities of the weak and not to please ourselves. ROMANS 15:10 -
Oh, no I wasn't saying "go to Cannock". More saying it was a shame there weren't more of the potential attendees there. I'm sure I could do Rivington "only" 2 hours! But yeah, multiple rides would be good. We've pretty much exhausted the Midlands' riding destinations with one trip, and Isle of Wighters are never going to make it to Scotland and vice-versa.0

why not have one of them at one of the pre existing events? i.e. bike radar live or merida next year or something?0

Hmmm...
Hows about this..?
Mods / Admins / BikeRadar website design team / whoever the hell adjusts the website itself...
Can we not get some kind of 'Rides' catagory? But in that catagory, have a South-West, South-East, Midlands, Wales, North East, North West and Scotland branches?
Or is this just a waste of time, shite idea...?Boo-yah mofo

In all fairness I dont feel there is a need as long as there is a clearly titled thread for each one.0
