Yes we went today, along with 100's of others it seemed, the place was chocker.

Some interesting water features there today, especially the puddle just after the wooden section on the open (where the tree have gone) bit of the red. Had no idea how deep it was going to get.

You should have gone last Sunday morning; it was like riding in a monsoon.

I went yesterday (saturday 7th) and it was absolutely chucking it down. Haven't been so drenched since I rode Innerleithen in the floods.
some of the puddles on the singletrack were big enough to hold a rowing competition in, and deep enough tor cliffdiving
  • I went today, it was my first time aswell and i thought it was pretty good.

Went with wife and daughter today, the missus's face as she went through that one was a picture! Wish I'd had a camera.

Ironically, I didn;t take them with me. When I left home, it was clear skies, and i thought if there was any rain, I'd probably be ok in my normal baggy shorts, and that the gridlock pants would probably be too warm for that kind of riding. I was wrong
The heavens opened halfway there, I REALLY wished I'd taken them with me!

I tried riding in waterproof trousers a few years back, didn't get on with them (sweety legs) just use my Aldi winter tights now which although they get a bit damp, they do a good job of keeping the wind and cold out!

Just one thing though, NEVER wear tights under shorts - if anyone does, just have a look at yourself in a mirror first!

Do you go to llandegla alot Yeeehaaamcgeeeee, I'm there every Sat/Sun with one of my boy's in tow - I'm sure are paths must have crossed by now!!

Quite possibly. I tend to go to llandegla a lot with some friends who are just getting into riding, it's a great place for them to get a feel of riding "proper" off road, wihout being overwhelmed as it were.
I also tend to ride there myself if I've been off the bike for a while, just to get back into the flow of things.

Looking at your FlickR page, your face does seem to ring a bell, actually!
I'm pretty easy to spot, with a big mass of long, messy red hair, and usually my "dirty habit" beanie hat/hair net
