Hi all. I'm pretty sure I know the answer to this question, but I guess I am kind of holding out for someone to say otherwise. Lol!
I've seen an awesome Yeti ASX DH for a very cheap price. I am more than interested in it but problem it they only have a medium left. I am 6ft 2in and 190lbs (13s7). Am I too big for this bike? Or do any of you ride similar and don't have a problem? I know I should probably get something else and go for a large but like I said I am holding out 'just' in case.
You guys are the pros, so whatever advice you give me I promise I will listen to!
Thanks for any replies in advance.

i would have thought a medium frame would be a bit cramped for a 6ft2er like your self, would need a Long ol seat post to get that right and chances of it bending when out that much will be quite high i would imagine!
would have thought a Large would be better But! i know the power of a bargain can have on the old grey matter!! best thing to do if you can if find someone with one that size to try out!
you dont want to splash out and find its really too small for you!
i'm in a similar situ opver a frame only deal ive seen, am only 6ft but pondering on if a M would be okay or best stick to a L when you know it'll be fine!!Timmo.

Everyone will tell you that the only way to size a bike properly is to try it out! I am 5'11" and ride a 19" large Gray Fisher, the 17.5" felt tiny. However my last bike was a 17" Carrera Banshee which didn't feel small...go figureAdam.
Never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.

as a rule, yes that sounds too small for you, but the only way you will know is by riding it.0

thanks guys! i really appreciate the advice. i've been reading a lot of forums and quite a few people say yeti's are generally oversized and that yetis own sizing chart says that a medium is fine up to 6ft 3in-ers. but, like you've all advised it would be wise for me to be sensible about it. damn. hehe.
thanks again all.0 -
I'm 5'9 and went from an 18" stumpjumper to a 15.5" whyte. There is really no way of knowing.0
