CAAD 8 105 v CAAD 9 Tiagra

Hi

first it was a mountain bike, then CX and now I'm ready to make the transition to a "proper" road bike. I fancied one of the above bikes. I appreciate the CAAD 9 is a better frame than the CAAD 8 but is it worth the trade-off in groupset?

The bike is for commuting 13 miles to work and the occasional 80 mile trundle.

Or if anyone else has any ideas for a £1000 budget I'd be keen to hear.
