Not really much of a TV person but got sick of our tiny (21") poor picture LG LCD one so just got this:

No expert but the picture and sound seem to be very good. And it has a proper "guide" too - our last one was HATEFUL!!

do they make 21" LCD's....?
i have 2 in the house. 1 in the living room is 37" LCD (hooked up with surround sound also) which is good for online gaming when the nights are poop.
the other is a 32" LCD in the bedroom. (its for the missus when she wants to watch her random sh*te2009 Trek 3900 disc https://www.flickr.com/photos/125245570 ... 613755884/

In my experience Panasonic make some great TVs! Played XBox on one side by side a Toshiba, the main difference was the black level on the Pana was superb, really nice dark crisp blacks (a weakness in a lot of other LCDs). Enjoy!Santa Cruz Chameleon

Hmm, may not own that then - best take a photo of it in your living room or we may not believe you. :twisted:0

c'mon, im just pulling your leg.
Ive been hankering after a new tv since i went round my neihhbours gaff t'other week, hes got a 50 something inch telly which looks amazing even when its turned off0 -
Sorry all, my TV knowledge isn't very good but...
Now we have an HD TV with Freesat built in (but no dish) what's the best way to get HD?
Freeview are bringing it out soon but it appears they have forgotten about Cornwall.
A Freesat dish is about £80 - but I'm not keen on having a dish
I can get a Sky dish fitted for free and get a free box (for HD and all that) and get half price rental but not sure if it's worth it even then - don't watch loads of TV and we get all our films from lovefilm
Is the best DVD option to get a Blu Ray player? Any recommendations? Would probably stick to Panasonic as they have the Viera link but know NOTHING about them!
Cheers all!!0 -
Games consoles are banned (well sort of) from this house!
They do seem quite pricey at the moment though - normal DVD player - £40. Blu Ray player - £200ish. Worth waiting for prices to drop?0 -
You could sneak a PS3 Slim in under the guise of 'media centre'. You can use it to show your TZ5 holiday pics in glorious HD or listen to your immense MP3 collection in window-rattling 5.1
As for buying a dedicated Blu-Ray player, IMO there's not enough mainstream material to truly justify it. Sure there are plenty of Blu-Ray discs about but not many have content that was actually recorded in HD. Older movies look vivid and contrasty but they're not in the same league as something like Planet Earth or Star Trek.0 -
blitz - that's the sort of stuff I need to hear.
We aren't bothered about all the latest stuff - just has to work properly. If Blu Ray does a Beta Max, I don't want to lose out.
Camera pics do look amazing on the TV (there's an SD slot in it) - wish I could get them as detailed in print/on the internet!
Immense MP3 collection?! About 10 albums stuck onto my SE C905 phone isn't what i'd call "immense" - still a CD man myself.0 -

And play games/surf the net0 -
Honestly Blitz, if I suggested a PS3, I'd get the killer "rolling eye" look.
I had an N64 years ago, played it too much, realised how sad I was being, gave it away, swore never to get a console again.
If I ever think someone might be interested in our photos (apart from the ones of our little boy), then I'll need shooting.
CDs - all the good ones are on the laptop just in case. Baby + grubby fingers + CDs = jumping music and regular CD cleaning!0 -
How about this one?

I know it's wrong to stick to brands but I'm very impressed with my Panasonic TV and camera.0 -
