Bloody rim rattle again

Riding hard last night with a buddy, over some rough roads (one of which is a badly pot holed uphill section which also goes past some allotments where gardeners leave all sorts of shit on the road).

Going into work this morning I've now got some really bad rim rattle. I've checked the usual suspects but can't figure it out.

Any ideas?

Is the rim knocking against one of the brake blocks? It was on mine and I had to back them off a bit to get rid of the rattle.

What usua suspects have you checked?

Lift up front end, any play side to side ie, within hub?
Anything inside the rim rattling around?
Checked all spokes are tight? Give them a squeeze to see if they make noises at crossover points. Then give them a drop of lube at the nipple.

Wrap some tape around the valve stem - as you roll along and the tyre deforms the valve can move and will 'tap' against the edge of the hole.
Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..
