So i'm new to the Surrey Hills area and am looking for some good hills to do some training (uphill). Where might i find the the longest off road hill climb in the area.

Oh and yes i am quite mad!

It depends what you mean by steep or long..
    try the following:
The fire trail next to the zig zag - is about an 15-18%er (easy)
    51°15'27.79"N 0°19'20.41"W
The green climb from Headly road car park is about a 23%er (easy to moderate)
    51°15'38.26"N 0°18'35.01"W
The footpath up from the railway towards the scout camp by ranmoor common is about a 25%er (hard)
    51°14'23.53"N 0°22'42.57"W
The stepped climb on the approach to Wolverns Lane (L hill) is about a 20%er
    51°13'10.40"N 0°22'53.23"W (moderate to hard)
The easern approach to L hill tower is a 27%er
    51°10'35.00"N 0°22'14.78"W (moderate to hard)

Some are steep but with good grip others are shingle or flint with poor grip. The accent to ranmoore common from the railway 51°14'23.53"N 0°22'42.57"W is the toughest, because its deep flint tracks with poor grip and very technical On top of that it is quite long. I've only managed this once without stopping. In the winter its also a stream - which is nice
