Terrible news. He was involved in the crash that led to the death of Isaac Galvez at the Gent Six in 2006 and I'd heard before that he was deeply affected by it.
RIP.0 -
Yea it was said he was very affected by it, not sure if he'd recovered any in the last couple of years. I'm assuming not.0

that is very sad news..., so young, poor guy.0

RIP.so many cols,so little time!0 -
It is tragic. Only last week, I was watching him charge around the Grenoble Palais des Sports in the Six day event there.0

Apparently he had testified to systematic doping and xtc and coke use at QuickStep - he rode for them between 2003-5 and then disappeared from/was thrown out of the pro scene. This is all on tape, allegedly0
-
He did not disappear from the Pro scene as he rode with Chocolate Jacques' then Topsport Vlandeeren  He then he rode for Continental Team Josan so yes droping from Pro, before getting a contract with AA Drink0

It may well be true, but reading that kinda left a bad taste in my mouth.
Been a terrible year for Belgian cycling, though. First Frederik Nolf, then VDB, then De Fauw.0 -
given how many postings there are claiming whatever doping stories journos report are the truth, have a look at this...shows some quite unfair tactics by the newspaper below?

Dave, by extension the story you quote could be wrong? But more broadly I don't think people believe everything they read in the papers.
On the specific matter, De Decker has one very big axe to grind, he's a potential slippery customer. But he was instrumental in taking down Museeuw and others, to think Lefevere was ignorant of all of this takes a leap of faith.0 -

I think we mostly believe what is written if it is doping... do you ever ignore doping headlines of the day?0
