Yep, he looked pretty fragile in that final Tour ITT.

If you are going to use that as an example he looked fragile in Paris Nice when lost it he had the race wrapped up. I think his public utterenaces since the Tour are indicative of a fragile individual who doesnt like it if folks arent dancing to his tune.

    Pot, kettle, black.

    Ridiculous retort.

MG, if you know that a retort is an archaic word for a large pot; best pun ever. Kudos.

A twitter war ? lol cant you come up with something better than that. I mean who gives a f*ck what is written in twitter. Twitter war :lol::lol:

I'm glad I amused you.

On a serious note, you might not give a tinkers cuss about twitter but in today's media environment it's a way for riders to have a one way conversation with their fans. Many journalists, and one could argue too many, use it as a primary source for quotes from the likes of LA. It was his and JB's tweets during the Tour that led to journalists speculating on the goings on inside Astana.

If you want another example check out the Sky Friday thread, 6 pages started by one short comment by a cycling journalist on twittter.

AC did what he had to do which was to go and win the race and probbaly didnt pay too much attention to journalistic speculation via twitter or otherwise. Too much is being made of this so called Twitter war then and now .

  • Maybe AC did notice when all the Astana cars disappeared into the distance.

  • "This upcoming Tour will be fight of man versus man," explained Schlek. "The strongest rider will celebrate. There is no team time trial and the mountain stages look controllable. The strength of the team in 2010 will not be the deciding factor."
Alberto acknowledges the fact that he needs a strong team, like this year's second place finisher in the Tour Andy Schlek. "I do actually worry about that. I must have a strong team, so I can enter the battle with Saxo Bank, Radio Shack, Caisse, Garmin and BMC. Otherwise I'm vulnerable."

I thought this was supposed to be a thread about which team Bert may go to but has deterioated (as usual) into bitchiness.
I think I'd like to see him go to Quickstep - all those strong riders helping on the cobbles will be good to see. :D

Actually the thread was originally asking who else is dissapointed about Bertie staying with Astana, and as expected most folks couldnt give a monkeys either way.

Ah spotted the error in that article.

Vino was not ejected from the 2006 Tour. Ironically Vino was unable to race in 2006 because 6(?) of his Astana Wurth squad were implicated in OP. One of them being Alberto Contador.

No Más was in response to your arguing.

Duran was one of the greats, no question.
But don't assume what I know of boxing based on a joke.

Point out where i said what you know of boxing is based on a joke, i said people who remember RD from the no mas usually dont know their boxing and can write their knowledge of boxing on the back of a postage stamp. Whether that applies to you i neither know nor care .

  • "We are talking half that amount and, not under any circumstances do we want to continue for more than the year left of the contract.”
From Contador talking about the 8million which is a totally false rumour...what's new.

can't imagine Contador will want Alexandre Vinokourov's "support" at the 2010 TDF..

    http://www.cyclingnews.com/news/vinokou ... for-astana

Vinokourov said that if the Spaniard remains, he will have the full support of the team. "If Contador remains part of Astana, we will help him win the Tour de France."

Vinokourov said a good performance at Giro d'Italia would be high on his personal agenda for 2010, but that a start at the Tour de France would be the ultimate satisfaction since his return to the sport in August.

"I would like to finish high in the general classification at the Giro d'Italia. But if there is a chance to start in the Tour de France, I will try to win a stage or two. For me, I would be overjoyed to simply be able to start again at the Tour; I've missed its unique atmosphere."

    I dunno

As a team mate, he seems quite popular. Didn't Chris Horner say he was great to ride with. Gallopin said he was a pleasure to work with, a true professional.

Contador, who has been a team mate previously, stated a year ago, that he preferred him over Armstrong.

Contador's concern may be more to do with the politics?
