Top distances in races covered in 2009:

Christophe Brandt (Silence-Lotto) 16,641 kilometres
Oliver Kaisen (Silence-Lotto) 16,348 kilometres
Johnny Hoogerland (Vacansoleil) 16,105 kilometres
Philippe Gilbert (Silence-Lotto) 15,987 kilometres

Silence-Lotto really hammer their riders.. That's alot of distance!

    Serves them right for having such a rubbish first half of the season.

    Had to get the victories somehow.

    It's interesting to notice that it doesn't necessarily seem to produce an unsuccesful year, or even a tired downhill end of the season: Hoogerland and Gilbert both had very good years and extraordinarily good final months, apparently after a long long year of racing.....

    It's also interesting that non of these 4 did the Tour de France this year....
