What to buy

The new 6700 Ultegra groupset or Dura Ace 7800?

Which would you buy???

I can get both for the same price.

That seems a lot of dosh for 7800 when you can get 7900 for £200 more. Saying that I heard that 7800 is still at a premium because of issues with 7900. I know of 2 guys whose front shifter went pop leaving them stranded on the 12t rear sprocket.

From an aesthetic perspective I prefer 7800, the new groupsets look a bit "techno". But that may be your want. It'll grow on me I'm sure.

    7800 then for me.

I've recently looked at exactly the same choice whilst upgrading my Focus Variado from 105. I chose the Dura Ace 7800 for the STI's, mechs, brakes but still have not changed the chainset. No sure if I really need to, but if I do persuade myself to change it, I'd probably go for the 6700 one. It's meant to be as good as the 7900 chainset, cheap from Ribble, but not sure if I like the look of it ? !
Also, I bought 'new' unused off ebay for much less than 6700 prices, very cheap bits due to the new range being available. Worth keeping a close eye on 8)
