Hey

Trying to fight the boredom when pedalling away on the turbo trainer and was wondering if anyone has tried any of the VR trainers such as the Tacx I Magic or the Tacx Bushido?

What do people think of these? Are they as realistic as the claim?

Cheers

Two of my mates have all singing all dancing Tacx VR trainers. One uses his, and the other doesn't, although he would like you to think he does.

They alter the resistance for you depending on the gradient etc, but at the end of the day, you still gotta pedal and put effort in! No computer screen will change that fact. I have been on a couple of times. IMO I don't think it's worth the extra money? But if your flush and have money to burn?

You either have the mental capacity to beat the boredom factor or you don't? One mate keeps on saying you can hook up online and race someone 'live' on the otherside of the world. But in two years how many times has he? Zero.
