Hybird/Trainer

I've been riding for '09 on a Specialized Crosstrail Sport, I live in Wisconsin so sadly these are the months the snow and cold weather begins. I've obtained a LeMond bike trainer and wish to start using it, however I know you can wear out your good tires pretty quick on it. I was looking to see if I'd be good through the winter months if I just picked up the cheapest tire I could find that fit my bike or if I should purchase one of those trainer tires? Like this one:
