Replacing forks.

Hi, i'm new here, my name is Harry.
I have just bought some old forks off my friend, Suntour XCM. (for a tenner  )
These are to be replacing my broken forks until i buy a new bike.
I was trying to remove my old forks off my bike, but the spacers won't seem to come off the steerer tube of my old forks. Therefore i can't hammer the steering tube off the bike.
Can someone help me out here?
Thanks, Harry.

Sometimes the steerer can take a good whack. Though it seems your spacers may have dry welded to your steerer. Try dismantling fluid like Plus Gas. Though it may ruin the bearings.0
