Fell off last weekend and thought I'd just bruised my arm/elbow.

Turns out I haven't.... bastard thing is fractured. Just a teeny one right by the elbow on my forearm. Hurts like chuff if I twist/rotate my forearm.

So how long am I likely to be off my bike? And any tips for when I do get back on (other than 'don't fall off'). Am thinking about support bandages etc that will help.
Cool, retro and sometimes downright rude MTB and cycling themed T shirts. Just MTFU.

    thanks 4XJ

Am seeing a specialist on Tusday to see what's the best treatment. Currently have a support bandage on which helps a lot. Might try a sling as well.

I don't think the the clapping I did at the Green Day gig on Friday will have helped though

  • i rode glentress for 2 weeks with a fractured wrist :D

Just strapped it up and took painkillers. Hurt like a mother at night though.

Wrist clicks like hell now though hehe!
  • try not to use it and take vit c tablets that disolve in water

    and dont w@nk with it

Firstly, why vit c? Sounds almost stupidly obvious, but drink milk - lot's of calcium. If you don't want / can't have the extra calories, drink red-top milk. I drink about 10 litres a week...

And wank LOTS with it. Think about it, low-impact conditioning. What? It's good excuse!!
    Boo-yah mofo
Sick to the power of rad
    Fix it 'till it's broke
  • vit c as it will help speed up the healing

    Advice noted.

    About the calcium that is.

Too much milk make Jack a fat boy... so will probably get some calc tablets.

smashed my arm in half a couple of years back. Had to be opened up and to this day I have plates in it.

8 weeks in I went skiing (albeit with a rugby arm support) and 12 weeks is somewhere near healed. They reckon bone not quite as strong for 2 years though.I wouldnt really fly on the bike for a couple of months but should be ok to start riding within 2 months
  • Broke my clavical 8 weeks back. Platted and pinned. Rode for the first time last weekend and boy has it trashed my fitness. Still not allowed to lift anything remotely heavy (a pint is ok :D ) or participate in contact sports so footy is out of the question for another 5 weeks. Wife tried to convince me cycling is a contact sport..I guess it is if your crap like me..
