Bottom Bracket Tool

Hello, I have a Shinamo Octilink BB at the moment, its worth about £15 new, my mate lent me a bottom bracket tool but it wouldnt fit on, it bottomted out on the spline I believe, Ive just purchased a Fire Eye ExType crankset which comes with a FSE bottom bracket and want to make sure I buy the correct tool to remove and refit... could the one he lent me be for a older style BB? It seemed to want to fit on but was bottoming out.

Thats the crank removal I was looking to take the bottom bracket shells out0
