1) How old do you reckon baby needs to be before he can go in a child seat?
2) My wiife is worried about him going on the bike. to be honest I would only take him on tow paths etc and not commuting down the embankemnt, but still, any comments on how I can convince her it's not a problem?

thanks

We first put our eldest in the child seat (a Hamax) at just under 11 months. Her first trip was along the towpath from Kingston to Hampton Court. It's flat, but a bit bumpy/uneven in parts. Fell asleep in the chair and, whilst we were a bit worried about whether her head bobbed about, as long as you take it easy and can recline the seat a little, it was absolutely fine.

Similar story with the second one.

It comes down to how strong their neck is.
    FCN 2-4.

"What happens when the hammer goes down, kids?"
    "It stays down, Daddy."
    "Exactly."

Eeeyup. Neck strength is the key.
