Crank Bro's Candy replacement platforms.

Does anyone know if you can buy just the plastic pedal platform for the Candy c pedals?

I know you can buy the re-build kits and nearly everything else however being made of plastic a smack off a boulder takes chunks of plastic off. the area around The end cap has more or less been domolished which makes it impossible to screw the grease port on.

This isn't the answer you're looking for, but I'd chuck 'em out and buy spuds.

Candys came as standard with my stumpy elite 08 and I used them faithfully (but not always happily) for about 4 months until they totally disintegrated. I took them back to the shop with the trepidatous feeling that I'd get sent packing (I'm no good at returning things), but the shop boy said "yeah, these are garbage, we've had loads of them back, Spesh have told us to swap them out for spds", which I duly did. I'd previously used spuds for years and was more than happy to revert.

I know what your saying, I used to have SPD's but the played havoc with my knees so I bought a cheap set of smarty's off ebay to try. They took a while to get used to but I found they had plenty of float in them and so were easy on the ol knees, and I love em.

I have now upgraded both of my bikes to CandyC's and don't have any issues with the pedal mechanisms its just the crap plastic that disintegrate on contact with a rock!

I don't really want to go back to shimano's, plus to convert both bikes back would cost me a packet.

I might drop Crank Bro's an email and see what the official line is.

my mate has is now on his third set in less than a year :shock:.
I keep telling him to make the change to spuds but he wont have it
