Sorry if this seems a bit wierd (there will be no poetry I promise)

But was that your mum flying James May in the Spitfire in last night's Toy Stories on BBC2*

Just caught the ladies surname and you've mentioned your family business in previous threads.

*For anyone who didn't see it it's worth watching on iplayer. My TV highlight of the year.

Please don't tell me LiT's mum has my ultimate job?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

And I waste my life in here, farting about with computer mcgizmo's.....

I want to fly Spitfires and Mustangs - If I *ever* have a significant lottery win, I am definitely gonna do air racing in the Nevada desert around Reno!

Nothing quite says "I am here!" like the roar of a 27 litre supercharged 1,500HP Supercharged V12.....Sometimes see one doing very low passes on Filton airfield as I ride home - makes me feel proud to be British and sends a shudder through the spine!

I also want to fly helicopters professionally!

    Isn't that amazing!

What a fabulous effort to keep a machine like that in such amazing condition. How many Spitfires are still flying? One? Maybe two? And what an inspiring story..

That site's a bit out of date...

EDIT: but yes, there are about 14 in the UK, at the moment, I think.
