Hello,

Needing to plan some new routes for next year and was wondering which software is better, Memory Map or Tracklogs. Also would you use 1:25000 or 1:50000 OS maps.

Cheers
Simon

Don't know much about Tracklogs, I still use Memory Maps (occasionally) with my SatMap.

However, what I can suggest is defo use 1:25K to plot your routes.

Tracklog's is my preferred option for 1:25k maps of my locality as it's much cheaper than Memory Map, but I also have Southern England 50k of Memory Map which is more than adequate.

If you're after merely route-planning and following, then 1:50k's OK, but if you're going to be trying to place yourself whilst out in the wilds and choose your routes on the fly, then 1:25k's the way to go.
