pennine way 'v' sea to sea
short and sweet: how long are they both(distance and time would be useful) and which is the harder of the two. the story is me and two mates are planning on doing one of them next summer and are unsure which one as they want to do the easier of the two and then maybe do the other later depending on how they feel after the first one. any advice would be greatly apreciated. thanks

also we are reasonbly fit and we are all young (15, 16 and 17) so bear that in mind for times so we are fairly fit and active but my no means supermen or marathon racers as the other two have minor cycling experiance which i will work on improving by next summer0

90% of the 268 Pennine Way is footpaths and not legal to ride plus much of it is unridable anyway.
There is the Pennine Bridleway(340miles) but its not all open as yet
The C2C is mainly green roads/minor lanes and about 190 miles.
Have a look on here:

Stay off the Pennine Way - it's for the red sock brigade and you will dragged into bushes and turned into real men by them.0

as above - PW not a great riding experience plus very, very cheeky.
C2C fairly straightforward, doable in a day, easy in 2.0 -
ok cheers people, i will get training for the sea to sea then.0

Or theres the "real"The Coast to Coast, the off road version of the C2C is tougher if you fancy a challenge.
