What is a decent frame rate for hurtling downhill at? I am looking at one that is 30fps but is this too little or is this perfectly alright?

Many thanks

30 is pretty standard... But if you can wait for the Hero HD, that looks like it's going to be a big step forward. The current Hero cam is as good as it gets for usability etc but it's not the highest quality pic, still, I reckon it's the one to go for just now.

If it says "Oregon" or "ATC" on it, it's s**t ;)

30fps is about right for helmet cams unless you want to spend serious money. Viewing angle is a key feature to check for - wider the better (up to a point). Wider viewing angle (or field of view) gives a better representation of speed and also reduces the visual impact of camera shake.

I'm shopping about for one now. Not yet made up my mind (or even how much to spend, but varying from £80-£200). This one is a new kid on the block and looks good but I want to do a bit more research: http://www.actioncameras.co.uk/X170
You only need two tools: WD40 and Duck Tape.
If it doesn't move and should, use the WD40.
If it shouldn't move and does, use the tape.
