OK, so now the Tour and the Giro routes are out, which is going to be the best to go to? I've never been to the Pyrenees, so a double Tourmalet stage and maybe some other nearby passes would be good. But then the Gavia, Mortirolo, Zoncolan, Kronplatz...

The Giro. It's starting in Amsterdam, on my birthday and you may all buy me beers! :D

Both, for the start, courtesy of the Friday night overnight pothead ferry from North Shields.

    :D
  • Both would be great, did that in 2006 but I had more money then. Finaces won't allow both unless I sell a kidney or something.

And it has to be the mountains rather than the start weekend, doesn't it?

Tell me more about the kidney you're selling. Any pics?

Both awesome,so whichever floats your boat
    so many cols,so little time!
  • The tour , better chance of getting some good weather and the pyrenees ae a stunning place to visit. Never seems to be too crowded and lots of smaller ballbreaking climbs for your pleasure .

How many fiancés have you got? One would probably kick up a fuss, but if you've got more than one, you go nowhere.

If you go to the Tour de France, your non-cyclist work buddies and your fiancés will know what you're talking about.

Maybe I could take one fiancé to the Giro and one to the Tour! I can now afford it with the kidney sale. But then I have to be really careful not to talk about the Giro to "Tour fiancé" and the Tour to "Giro fiancé". I'm sure it couldn't possibly go wrong...
