one that allows you to easily read the guage.

It does matter, because some forks need a high pressure pump, some a low pressure one.

But seeing as you've got RockShox forks, I'd be tempted to go for RockShox own pump to match...

Did you buy the forks new (i.e. boxed)? Or were they fitted to a new bike? In which case I'd be straight back to the shop to demand a pump, it should have been supplied or else the bike/forks aren't fit for purpose.

    ^ ^ What he said.

I picked up a Bikehut jobbie from Halfords for less than 20 notes and it does the job perfectly.
You only need two tools: WD40 and Duck Tape.
If it doesn't move and should, use the WD40.
If it shouldn't move and does, use the tape.

The forks came with the bike and no pump supplied. So would all new bikes come with a pump? Christ (old thread) but Im not v happy with how my bike was delivered and configured in the first place.

I did not get a pump with my bike but did not expect one either.

Brand of pump is not important. It just needs to have a guage and be able to pump to the required pressure - ie don't get a pump with max 200psi rating if your brand of fork typically needs 250psi.

Mine is rated to 300psi which is fine for my needs.

New bikes don't come with pumps. but new shocks do (for some reason).. You'll get nowhere with a fit for purpose angle as most bikes don't come with a tyre pump either.

I would strongly support an argument that they should come with one - after all most come with some sort of tool.

Should do or how else are you going to set your suspension up? I know that if any of mine didn't, FOC, I'd demand one until I got it or I'd take my money elsewhere.

The joys of buying mail order when you don't know how to do it yourself, eh?

Mine did because I threatened not to buy it otherwise.
