Cardiff to Edinburgh

Hey

I am planning on cycling from Cardiff to Edinburgh, along with a friend .This will be my first major road expedition as I mainly mountain bike.

Any help would be much appreciated:

Is there anyone on here that has already done this trip previously who could advice on a potential route?

Or any routes to help along the way.

    look up LEJoG websites as much of your route will have been done on LEJoG rides.

    I did from Chepstow, via Monmouth, Hereford, Shrewsbury,Whitchurch, Warrington, Lancaster, Kendal, Penrith Carlisle up to Gretna this summer on my LEJoG, you could go from Carlisle/ Gretna across to Edinburgh

    Take a look at this year's Tour Of Britain stage from Peebles to Gretna - you could do a lot worse than doing that in reverse, but turning up NCN route 1 towards Edinburgh at Innerleithen just before you get to Peebles.
