finally i managed to get my seized seatpost out with some help of a massive wrench and a rubber mallet!

But now when i go on to the internet to buy one i don't know what mine measures...
On chainreactioncycles there are three measurements for each seatpost 27.2 30.9 31.6 what is this internal diameter of the seat tube? or external diameter of the seat tube that they should go in? or is it the size of the seatpost

well seat posts can come in a variety of sizes.

what is the diameter of yours?

it will be stamped on it by the min insertion line.

Size should be on the bottom of the old post

What bike is it for? may be some owners on here who know the size

if not measure the internal diameter of the seattube

There are a lot more than 3 sizes of post!

  • ok, the internal diameter is about 30mm and the external is 31 32ish hard to tell. And i can't check on the seatpost because the previous owner had cut it down. To reduce wight or something maybe :?
  • the internal idameter of the seat tube by the way

about 30mm means nothing, as does the external.

measure the seat post diameter to the nearest 0.1mm.

Or tell us what the frame is Make/model/year and then you might get the correct info.

why would you need the internal diameter of a seat post? it does nothing.

the seat post is 30.0mm and the seat post clamp is 34.9mm
