Brake Fluid

Quick question,

Can i use brake fluid intended for cars in my Hayes Stroker Trail hydraulic brakes. Obviously it would have to be the right DOT thingy?

yes it is the same.

cheers man. Can i bleed them the same as i do on my car i.e. top up the reservior and pump it through or do i have to use one of these bleeding kits(more money)?

read the bled info in the manual/hayes website.

if its your first time bleeding brakes make sure you have about a litre of brake fluid.

dave i'm talking from my experience.
the hayes system takes a while to get all the air out so you get through a lot of fluid.

Yeah, but a litre... That's enough to do, oh, 5 motorbikes There are ways of reusing fluid as you bleed, you don't need to just bleed it through and throw it away.

mine were a nightmare to bleed

ended up taking them to the lbs

i was cracking bad and going to take mine to the lbs also but i tried one last time and got it sorted

lol i think i got hit in the face a couple of times early on! i used my brain for once and bled it in the shed!
