Biking Adventure

Can anyone recommend a good website or some good information to get me started?
There are a few of us planning on doing a long weekend biking around Scotland next year but want to keep to just what we can carry, i.e. bivvi-bag, gas stove, change of biking gear etc. etc. but don't really know where to start on planning this sort of thing. I did read a review along these lines a while back in one of the magazines but i've thrown that out by now.
Any ideas where to start?

If you go to www.bikely.com and search for WMB, What Mountain Bike have posted most of their featured rides. They did a feature of some wild riding up near Aviemore in the Cairngorms which is an amazing spot for summer riding. Failing that, if you want great riding, and amazing scenery, then get a train from Glasgow to Crianlarich and then follow the West Highland Way to Fort William. Ive done that bit twice now and its an amazing ride, you feel like you have achieved something when you get to Fort William0

If you want an "adventure" rather than just a load of riding, then the west highland way would definately be a good option, I'm vaguely planning to ride it next year, 95 miles and doable in 3 days if you're in decent shape and you can cap it off with some riding at Fort William. I think I might use one of the baggage transfer services though rather than trying to carry everything, not that it's impossible to do so but I'd want to ride it without worrying about luggage etc.Uncompromising extremist0
