I'd go for the newer one as the hoods are supposedly more comfy.

Not used either though but from what I've heard it's a win-win situation...

But Record 10 is a wonderful groupset ... personally I guess it depends what it's going onto ....
  • The record 10 is going on a BMC Pro machine

The chorus 11 is going on one of the ribble carbon frame

I know these are 2 very different bikes i was set on the latter of the 2 until i seen the pro machine

What year is the Record groupset? Carbon or alloy crankset?
  • 2008 BMC pro machine and 2008 record carbon

2008 BMC + record for me - every time!

I know that the new 11 speed is good and `i know that the hoods are different (i don't find them any 'better') - but 08 record 10 is an outstanding groupset - more compared with super record now really as they have dumbed down the new record to make way for the super record - which slightly de-values the 11-sp chorus (imo)
  • Yes thats it that is the one i am going to go for BMC

I'd have the new model Ergos - improved shift action and ergonomics, but I'm more than happy with the Record 10 I'm still running on my race bike.
Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..
  • The 11 speed Chorus, Record and Super Record groupsets have better, harder wearing finishes and better bearings. Your cassettes, chain rings and surface finishes will look a lot better than the older Record after a good dose of salt and road grime!

Plus as NapD said, the hoods are supposed to be comfier......
  • I'd never used campag before. However, just had the 11 speed chorus set-up on my bike - did a 60 miler yesterday & I was extremely pleased. Super smooth, positive response. I particularly like the way you can adjust the front mech so easily on the left hood with a simple 'click' so that there is no chain rub - found this out after riding about 40 miles - brilliant.

    woah woah woah guys!

    - he isn't just comparing groupsets here - he would be trading off a BMC for a ribble in order to get the chorus 11

so lets see - generic carbon frame with 3-rank down 2009 grouset Vs top-end swiss frame with last years top rated groupset!

    BMC still for me

(mind you - they are meant to be harsh as feck)

( - look bloody gorgeous though!)
