Whatever happened to the Tour of America? Obviously it was never going to happen, but has anyone said on record that it's definately not happening.

We've not got much else to talk about so...

Isn't that the long distance endurance event where slipstreaming is forbidden?

Or is that the Race ACROSS America?

Fckin' Quintana … that creep can roll, man.
  • Yeah that's the Race Across America. The Tour of America was meant to be a three week stage race that would go from New York to LA and visit each state at least every other year.

Obviously there were massive logistical problems what with America being mahoosive and it never got off the ground

It never got off the ground because the guy running it was some kind of mentalist who knew the square root of diddly squat about cycling. He was very good at getting publicity though, hence the coverage it got.

I think a number of people on here bet that it wouldn't ever happen at the time. Apart from Dennis, obviously.
