I used this forum two years ago planning my cycling trip to New York and got some great advice. SInce my trip I've suggested to loads of people how great - and easy - it is to cycle in New York and how cycle-sightseeing is a very viable option.

Anyway. There's an article in this week's Sunday Times saying much the same thing and giving a few options for bike-friendly hotels. I went cheaper and stayed in the Quality Inn in LIC and they were fine about me wheeling my bike to my room every night. Well, I didn't ask them and they didn't say anything!

I'd happilly stay in LIC again. It took me less than 10 mins to ride across the Queensboro Bridge and get to Central Park.

When I was there I did the five-boro bike ride. I'm saving up (and persuading my good lady wife!) at the moment and hope to do it again in 2010.
