hey,
great forums! i am in the market for a new hardtail MTB, and am considering the Zaskar Carbon Expert, Taurine 4 and, to a lesser extent the Scale 30 (as i cannot find a dealer in my area (Cheshire) with it, to let me test ride it)

there are some great deals to be had on the 2009 models of all three at the mo

i would welcome any comments from anyone comparing them; strengths, weaknesses... the Taurine is the cheaper of the three and i noted also the lifetime warranty on the frame. the GT is only 5 years

having very briefly ridden both the GT <http://www.gtbicycles.com/usa/eng/Bikes/Archive/2009/Details/5848-G9ZASCE-Zaskar-Carbon-Expert> and the Cannondale <http://gb.cannondale.com/bikes/09/ce/model-9FS4S.html>, i'd say the GT frame seems stronger and more solid. possibly heavier and less springy though. can anyone confirm this, in particular WRT the weights? different forks too; the 'dale has Fox "32 Float RL 100", and the GT has Rock Shox Recon Race

i am also interested to see if anyone can answer this: is the '09 Zaskar Carbon Expert frame, the same as that used on the other '09 Zaskar Carbon models, higher up in the range? what about the '09 Taurine frame? is it the same as the more expensive '09 Taurines

what is the main reason that the GT is so much more expensive than the Cannondale?

thanks in advance to anyone that takes the time to post a response,
