Had my first night ride last night. I have a Cateye EL610 Single Shot Plus Front Light which is OK. I would like to supplement this with a good torch that can be attached to my helmet, to improve my view and to give me a side view.
Any suggestions please

Exposure Joystick Maxx not cheap though.

You would also need to get the helmet fixing bit - but you may find a deal that sells that combo anyway.0 -
I've just got one of the Deal Extreme P7 bike lights, unbelievable power/cost ratio, so my old Fenix torch is now available for a helmet light. Heavier than fancy and expensive lights as it's designed to injure people with, apparently that's what a "tactical" light means, but it's got about the same output as lights 5 times the price. I've not tried it yet so I'll just see how the weight feels.
Helmet fixing? An old inner tube does the job.0 -
Fenix is great for the helmet light. Long run time and you dont need the P7 flood of light if you already have one on the bars.
You do need to mount the torch pretty high up on the helmet to get the angle right - but it really works well.0 -
Rather than a Fenix, this DX light uses the same Cree Q5 LED and is $18.80USD inc delivery (=£11.40ish)

I have one as a helmet light, simply cable-tied to my helmet (bit of fiddling backwards and forwards to get the angle right but stays put once sorted-out)0 -
Yeah - thats fair enough - I already had a fenix before I discovered Dealextreme.0

At that price, you can't be disappointed
I expect it'll come quick enough from Hong Kong, just to get held-up by the postal strike here :x0
