Without wishing to reignite the headphone debate, I was wondering what folk on here listen to when they're out on the bike or on the turbo. I couldn't get through the winter without listening to music while I ride, even Sportive's have been known to get the headphone treatment.

Meself, I have 4 playlists, as follow

1)All 4 Hold Steady albums,
Afghan Whigs- Black Love
Bruce Springsteen- Magic
Lil Wayne- Tha Carter 3
The Long Blondes- Someone to Drive you Home

2)Art Brut- Bang Bang Rock and Roll
2 Modest Mouse Albums
Rocket From The Crypt- RIP
WIlco- Kicking Television

3)All Mogwai's albums

4)Ghostface Killah- Fishscale
Lupe Fiasco- Food & Liquor
3 Rocket From the Crypt Albums
Daft Punk- Homework
The Best of Screamin' Jay Hawkins
Theme from Shaft
Curtis Mayfield- Move On Up.
"In many ways, my story was that of a raging, Christ-like figure who hauled himself off the cross, looked up at the Romans with blood in his eyes and said 'My turn, sock cookers'"

Leave thipod on shuffle. It picks up where it left off. Tonights ride from work included:

    Simon & Garfunkel...Sound of Silence
    Suede....My Dark Star
    Juliet(Jaques lu Cont mix)...Avalon
    Interpol....Hands away
    The Blue Aeroplanes...Colour Me
    Love...Alone again
    Feist...My man,my moon.
    Cud...I've had it with Blondes
    The Afghan Whigs...Fountain & Fairfax
    Deep Dish...Say Hello

Thipod contains much randomness from cheesy Euro techno to obscure American alt' rock. For pushing on a bit I find ( I'm slightly ashamed to say) The Magnetic Fields by the French Bontempi whizz, Jean-Michel Jarre works wonders. Has done for years, since I had a housebrick sized Walkman stuffed into my jersey pocket.

Garage bound turbo sessions consist of 100bpm + dance stuff. Pete Tong fodder. Partial to a bit of Oakenfold or Timo Mass.
  • Training Ride:- Ramstein, SOAD, Metallica, you get the Idea, Pedal to the beat

Sunday strole:- King of Leon, Eric Clapton, Muse,
  • Intervals session any Ramones best of, 2mins on, 2mins rest. Repeat ad infinitum

Also like to hear Green Day and Motorhead for really banging out the sprints

Minimum criteria for training of any type is ROCK!!!
Start with a budget, finish with a mortgage!
  • Hmmm interesting subject for all biking musos.
The definitive TURBO TOP 10 tracks for training and riding are listed together with some sound samples that can be played, on The Gregarios Superclub Ciclista website: http://www.gregarios.co.uk then go to Turbo Top 10 in the menu. How do you rate these tracks?
