Hello who's doing the Dartmoor Devil ride this Sunday? Anyone know the postcode for the starting point doesn't seem to say on the ctc site :roll:

    Yeah I'm riding it, 9 o'clock start and a lift back home afterwards

    The start is at the pub like ANC says. The official finish is at a different pub, as it says on the route sheet

    You will find that it will take you longer than a normal 100km. I live in Devon and 100km hilly normally takes me 4 or 5 hours.
    The Devil is usually 6 and half hours for me

    I didn't catch any 8am starters this year.

    I wasn't going really well and after the 3rd control at the pub my rear derrailuer cable snapped. I had a spare cable but after 10 minutes faffing about I decided it was easier to continue on 2 gears. Thanks to Paul who stopped to try and help

    I had time for a plate of beans at the Pincetown cafe,
    Walked much of Dartmeet but rode all of Widdecombe
    Finished with 6 minutes to spare

    :) Mission accomplished finally.

    Shame about your gears, tend to come in handy on that ride.

    Still round in one piece, that's the main thing.
