Hi all,

New here and to road biking in general and am about to purchase a nice road bike for dry commutes and training next year through the C2W scheme.

My question is this; My budget will stretch to a Giant Defy Advanced 3 2010 with Shimano 105 groupset. My dealer has a 2008 TCR CW with all ultegra groupset and Dura ace wheels which I can get for the same price.

The TCR is obviously a much better specced bike but is a W (womens) model. What my dealer has told me is that the only difference in the frame is that the top tube is 1.5 cm less and there's 1/2 a degree difference in the seat post angle from the male spec.

So my question is this, which bike should I go for? Will the slight differences in frame geometry make a difference in the saddle? (I'm a bloke just under just under six foot) I'm hoping to train hard next year and take part in some charity events during the season. Any opinions would be most useful.

Cheers

Jim
