Wiggins interview

An interesting article and it shows he can be thoughtful when he's got a minute to sit down and is in the mood.
His $300,000 contract is interesting, that would have been a generous amount given his lack of road success at the start of the year. Now it looks like JV's got him for free! You can't blame Wiggo for wondering if Sky would pick him up.0 -
Some good reading there. Top 10 at Roubaix! He certainly can't be described as an un-adventurous GT rider.Contador is the Greatest0

Nope - he finished in a near-30 man group galloping for 19th place, over 6 minutes down. Jeremy Hunt finished in the same group and Roger Hammond (who has a good P-R track record) finished 15th, yet neither of them are being touted as future kings of the cobbled classics.
Its good that he's prepared to have a go but it will be interesting to see if JV will let him within an asses roar of the race in 2010.'This week I 'ave been mostly been climbing like Basso - Shirley Basso.'0 -
Makes him sound a bit more humble than usual, good interview0

Garmin sounds like a really cool team to ride for. And I love him calling Dave Z "DZ Nuts!" BTW, has anyone here seen Dave's DZ Nuts ad on youtube? HILARIOUS!0

Didn't he get taken down by a crash in front of him semi-near the end which catapulted back into the big group? Vague recollections of it but could be wrong.0 -

You may be right about JV not letting him ride next year, but I'm not so sure.
With the best will in the world, you wouldn't put all your cards on him to win the TDF next year,so he's got to go for results in other racesso many cols,so little time!0 -
“I’ve still got a contract with Sky for about another year. The wife wants the movie package, and I’ve just got the sports package at the moment. We’ll see. The kids like all the cartoons like Disney Channel and all that, so we’ll probably keep it for another year.”
Funniest quote ever.0 -

C'mon, Knaven hasn't won a race for 4 years and his win in 2001 was, with no disrespect intended, a bit of a freak occurrence. Hincapie would probably be the first to admit that last year was his worst Paris-Roubaix for years.
So, no, they aren't no-marks, but look at who else finished in that group... Damien Gaudin, Said Haddou, Imanol Erviti etc... will anyone be tipping those riders next year?0 -

That'll be why you never see Tom Boonen more than 10 places from the front in Roubaix.Note: the above post is an opinion and not fact. It might be a lie.0
