Numb bits.....

I bought my first road bike, about two years ago. Fairly ignorant (me), poor shop service, frame was roughly correct, good price... I'll have it! Hundreds of trouble free miles, helping to 'hook' me on cycling :D
So, I decide to get a new bike. I travel to a highly reputable shop, have a bike fitting, test some nice machines, then order my bike, in all it's carbon glory.
Crap weather coming, I decide to protect my new 'best' bike by buying a 'Winter' bike.
Travel to a different shop, go through another bike fitting, and order a bike tailored to me

So, why is it that the 'fitted' bikes have given me the most grief?
I never had numb nuts before...

WTF?....

I had a Fizik Arione on first bike, transferred it to new bike... Numbness
Changed to a Specailized BG Toupe Team - A little better.
There's a Spec BG Phenom on the winter bike, too - Numbness, too.

Currently adjusting saddle level.... Ongoing

It was!... Trying varying angles, now.
Ironically, the most comfortable bike (original bike) has the longest stretch to the bars! :?

What material was the original bike? If it was steel it may have been a bit more forgiving or could just be a more relaxed geometry?

Think you're just used to the position of the old bike and the new ones are making your sit more in a 'correct' position. If your now less stretched there will be more weight on your bum and hence the need to "reclimatise".

I'm suffering too and going thru the tingering stage just for different reasons :D

I checked some dimensions on my bikes today...
Reach on old bike was 45mm longer than both the newer bikes.
Seat height on old bike 14mm (yep, fourteen millimetres) lower than winter bike. Best bike is seatless at the mo, but will put a seat on tomorrow just for correlation.
No wonder I'm getting problems, now. I guess I'll be doing a lot of riding and adjusting on the go... Might be sorted by Summertime!
