had the season gone on much longer he'd have won something big. He's been relentless, seems to attack in most of the one day races. Am sure he will win big next season.

A shame this event has lost its prestige over the years. When it was held on the Cote d'Azur in the late 80s it was a great event, and accessible for many who rode Lombardy on Saturday.

The Grand Prix des Nations kind of lost its status when the TT was introduced at the World Championships. Before that is was the unofficial world TT championship.

It seems also the whole traditional autumn season of individual TT races is gone for ever. Trofeo Baracchi, GP Eddy Merckx, all gone

    A week after Lombardy !

I've just looked at my 1991 "Cycling Weekly" Plastic Gear Table with the major events on the back.
    19th October - Lombardy
26th October - GP des Nations

    others to make you smile
    21 April - L-B-L
    27 April - Amstel
    29 April - Vuelta Spain to19 May
26 May - Giro Italy to 16 June.
    6 July - TDF to 28 July
    25th August - World Championships

Who is Vinokourov, yeh got it.
The guy who rode in that Juiced up German Team and got Towed round by Rolf Aldag to win the Tour of Germany.
Then got Banged to rights in the TDF as a CHEAT, the Scumbag.

The guy who won a memorable Liege and fooled the Peloton with an audacious attack on the Champs.

The guy who stopped that escaped-doper Valv.piti from getting his first GT in 2006.

The guy who everyone around here loved for his attacking riding until 2006

The guy who has fessed up exactly as much as everyone's hero, cuddly Jan (who not only got towed around but PUSHED around the TdG  )

I'm no fan of Vino. Just pointing out that you aren't fussed on him, then you exclude probably 90% of the pro peloton that were successful over that period.

Seems odd that such vitriol is reserved for riders that get caught and deny rather than all the other fkers who continue to get away with it. Especially as Vino used his drug habit to entertain us, unlike many others who were on the sauce but also boring

However, I have no time or inclination to check your other posts, so if you are similarly splenetic about Valv, Basso, Jan, Frank S, etc etc my apologies, but maybe following this sport is damaging your health?

Oh, and McGee. great rider. Strong on anti-doping. Remind me who he's DS for at the mo?

PS you're clearly not a fanboy of correct grammar

That's entertainment I could well do without??
My vitriol is reserved for two Racing Cyclists that I absolutely Despise and that German Team that made Billions for a little unknown Telephone Company and because they then play the innocent.
I was a fanboy of Reechaaard and VDB (rest his soul) and some of that list above. (and Rolf the super domestic)

So we have someone else who wants to give me grammer lessons. !
Well beware the Pot calling the Kettle Black, sonny.

Of course this one is but I can't resist a comment.

The earlier posts from a fanboy saying how wrong of me to hold such views.
In the last century I was a regular spectator and at Non-ASO events you could meet/shake hands with many riders and over hear conversations (ask someone for a translation).
My earlier posts are in regard to my "up close" observations with a couple of Turds and their reactions to the Public. (I hasten to add nothing to do with me personally) 8)
