Frames with deraileur hangers included

What's the point of having a derraileur hanger as part of the frame, if it gets bent surely your whole frame is buggered then?

    nope, bend it back. or use a brake away bolt.

    but yes if it does snap then you do have a problem.

    what material is the frame?
