This is my first post so im looking for some help.
Im riding a Boardman Hybrid to and from work through some terrible glass covered and pot holed roads in glasgows east end. It has 700-28 road tyres at 100psi but im flatting at least once a week.
Firstly im thinking of buying schwalbe marathon plus tyres. Has any got any experiance of these tyres? From what iv all ready read they seem to be just what i need.
And secondly can i change from 700-28`s to 700-32`s without changing my wheels?
I relise that there will be a trade off for weight verus MPH etc but id much rather get to work 30 seconds later than 30 mins late with a puncture.
The boardman hybrids have disc brakes and i think there should be enough clearance. Has anyone done this befor?
Cheers

As long as you have the clearance on the frame and forks you should be OK.I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.0

i use schwalbe marathon for my daily commute. i dropped my tyre size from 35c to 28c the opposite to you when i bought them. also if you use mudguards, you might find things a bit cramped & size doesn't help with punctures i dont think.
the tyres are great, have had a puncture though, glass got in there & must have ground away for a few days. otherwise grand. glad the neds dont recycle in glasgow, cos they dont in edinburgh either.0 -
No need to change the size, I changed to 28 Continental Gatorskins - not had a puncture in over 800 miles - fantastic tyres. Look slick but great grip - Switch to conti tubes too just to be sure and make sure you have good rim tape. If in doubt wrap electrical tape twice round the rim before refit. Run 'em at 90-100 psi0

I was also going to suggest considering other tyres .. I'm on 28s, but they have Kevlar in them and to date, only 2 punctures (in over 3 years). Although I've now just tempted fate ;-)
Well worth the added expense,

+1 for gatorskins, only one puncture in 1600 miles, and that was due to a bit of glass.0
