converting disk brakes to larger rotors

ok this might sound stupid but if i want to change my disk brakes from 160mm rotors to say 180mm or whatever do i need to buy anytthing else? or just the rotor

You'd need a disc brake adaptor to increase the distance from the caliper and the frame.

cheers for the help do they do them for hayes brakes?

They're all pretty much the same, just make sure the space inbetween the screws is wide enough to accomodate the caliper.
