Which thermo jersey?

Looking for a jersey to wear with lots of wind protection to keep me warm through the winter with just a base layer underneath.

If it has any showerproofing so much the better but not essential,

Any ideas?

What's your budget? Assos 851 fits the bill perfectly, but not cheap.
Carlsberg don't make cycle clothing, but if they did it would probably still not be as good as Assos

Gore Phantom works for me, I generally just use it with a merino base layer (unless it's really cold when I switch to an Endura Stealth jacket).
  • Thanks. Gone for a Gore Phantom, seems to fit the bill and leaves me some cash to be able to feed the family!

Gore Phantom for me too and I have an Icebreaker long sleeve merino base layer. I was happily cycling last winter down to zero degrees (c) with this combo - didn't need a third layer - but I also have a Pearl Izumi thermal top for if I ever go out in below zero temps (not likely probably). The Gore Phantom is the best piece of cycling kit I own - I love it.

Endura Windchill for me, good down to -4 with a base layer (YMMV)
