I am looking at a Cube Ltd team and a Boardman Team H/ts. Which would be the better one to go for, spec wise, performance wise ect?

I have just got my wife a Cube and the frame is superb quality, and stands out a mile over other bikes. I own a carrera kracken, and I'd have that everytime over a boardman. They are exactly the same except the boardman has ritchey bits bolted on.
You're buying a bike for the frame really, because inevitably all the bits will brake or you will upgrade them when you get board, man...
Sorry about the pun it was really poor.
Also remember it's what you do with it. I won a race on my bog standard carrera beating guys on thousands of pounds worth of bike. they were upset to say the least. Which made it all the sweeter
So basically if you like it get it....
Also sorry for the spelling i'm rubbish at it0 -
Not much in it really. Both have great value specs - I think the Team is a bit lighter though.0

Thanks guys. And sanny1978 my current bike is also a kraken, great bike but you know how it is,see something better and you gotta have it. :twisted:0

Bear in mind that Cube give the weight of the bike based on a small frame and boardmans are based on a medium frame for their weights.0

Yeah!
Well if you want something better the Cube is for you... Weight isn't the be all and end all. Just have a dump before you go out....
I've only got the frame left, the rest is in heaven.... It's been a tough year! For a first bike they are superb for the money.
Enjoy the winter!0 -
The Cubes are really nice, not that common(yet) and plenty of credibility
No contest0 -
Think a cube is they way to go, every man Jack and his dog, your neighbour and his dog and pups have a boardman, cycle to work scheme had a lot to answer for, my mate has a boardman fs, to be fair it's a cracking bike but the cubes are as rare as hens teeth and do standout0

Ok, mine is only an attention, but is basicly the same cube frame and a bloody love it!
Would certainly put the Ltd race at the top of the list if I was looking for a hardtail on the budget.0 -

To be honest I wouldn't really agree with that. I've got a Ltd Race and it's a cracking bike, but the frame is the same right down to the Acid (I think). For me it's the components that stand out rather than the frame. The frame stands out on my Anthem for example because it's the same one as you'd get on the much higher specced X0.
The Boardman and the Cube are both great bikes with awesome specs for the money, you should try both out if possible and pick the one you like the best.0 -
Can't comment on the Cube, although they all look very nice aesthetically and are good value.
However, I have the Team 09 and have been very happy with it, I ride over 100 miles a week a combination of road and off road on it and it keeps delivering. Had a 6 months service (not at Halfords) and it has tided me over. The mechanic said there a few things that might need replaced after winter if I want it to keep on top form but that he is very impressed with the value. Which is clear to see.
Lots of people may have them and many may have them because all they know is Halfords but you have people on here who know what they are talking about (not me) who cant praise the Boardman range enough so, dont rely on snobbery and you should make the right decision.0
